The Gambling Commission have now formally launched their new 3 year strategy for reducing what they define as gambling harms.

The 3 year strategy is supported by its own website: www.reducinggamblingharms.org.

The Commission describe their sole aim as to “move faster and go further to reduce gambling harms”.

The strategy aims to bring together health bodies, charities, regulators and businesses in partnership to effectively tackle the issue of gambling related harms.  The Commission is calling for action and combined efforts to deliver two strategic priority areas:

Prevention and Education – making significant progress towards a clear public health prevention plan which includes a range of interventions options.

Treatment and Support – delivering national treatment and support options that meet the needs of users.

We shall keep you updated as the strategy progresses.
